What a Year: From First Post to Fresh Start (A 2025 Reflection)

I launched The Mindful Brew in January 2025 with a simple belief: small rituals can hold a big life. Almost immediately, I started a podcast to carry that message further—and for a while, it flowed. Then life did what life does: it rerouted me.

In early spring, I was let go from my day job in a matter of moments. It stung, but there was grace in the details: I still received a paycheck. That cushion gave me time and resources. After school drop-off, I spent four focused hours every weekday on The Mindful Brew and other aspects of my creative business—no spirals, just steady work until lunch. It was a rare season of clarity.

Months later, I was involuntarily reassigned—this time into management. Overnight, this introverted soul became responsible for other people (and the personalities they bring). It has forced me far outside my comfort zone. But I’m a woman of God; I trust that there’s a purpose and plan.

Over the summer, I crossed paths with a creative soul I’ve admired for years, and the mix of his discipline and my passion helped me find my rhythm again. The podcast is officially launching in 2026.

Then came fall—my favorite season—and November, my favorite month, with a milestone birthday on the horizon. I was looking forward to Author Nation in Vegas, hoping to meet my author influencer Joanna Penn and to meet James Patterson. But when the day job shifted into shutdown mode while I was still “required” to work, it cost both time and income, and I didn’t make it to Author Nation this year.

Later that month, the heaviest blow: my closest friend was found in her home, gone. No warning. Just a hole that words can’t fill. (If you want more of that story, I shared from the heart on Substack.) Grief changed my calendar, my energy, my priorities. It taught me to bless every tiny win and to let the rest go.

So no—2025 didn’t overflow with big, glossy victories. It was a year of lessons and little wins counted one by one: a focused morning, a gentle boundary, one honest line in my journal, a podcast outline finished. Each small step mattered. Each small step kept me moving.

If you’ve been here—reading, commenting, DM’ing—thank you. Your presence helped me keep going, even when the words were heavy.

What’s Next

This space is for ambitious women—mamas, wives, entrepreneurs, corporate bosses—who want wellness that fits real life. We’ll keep the coffee chats and still-life calm, and double down on tiny, repeatable rituals that build steady energy, better boundaries, and sustainable peace.

Check back on December 31st—I’ll share the lessons 2025 taught me and how I’m carrying them into 2026.

Until next time..
